Cascading Thoughts of a Pregnant Priestess

Poetry by Starlight

There is something intensely magickal about listening to poetry while gazing up at a starry sky! The planetarium is a dark, cosy room with dome ceiling where the the magic of the night sky is projected with gorgeous clarity. The red chairs lean back comfortably so that your gaze is directed to the ceiling at just the right angle to take in the stunning view. Whether you are watching the moonrise, catching a glimpse of a shooting star, or simply allowing your eyes to wander across the dark sky, the atmosphere of the planetarium is both relaxing and stimulating all at once – a feast for the mind and body! And the poetry – the poetry is touching and provoking, guaranteed to make you feel far away and also very at home inside the imagery.

The annual Solstice Dawning celestial poetry reading at USM’s Southworth Planetarium in Portland is just around the corner. I absolutely adore this event! I highly encourage you to make this event part of your celebration of Yule! There is always a crowd, so make reservations! I’ll see you there!
