FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can you help me find a coven in my hometown?
Well, no. But I can point you in the direction of a great networking website called “The Witches’ Voice” that lists thousands of Pagan and Wiccan groups. You can do a search for your state and that should get you started. Good luck!
I am being psychically attacked by a witch (or haunted by a ghost). Can you help?
No. I suggest you contact your local Pagan clergy.
What is Wicca?
Wicca, or the Craft, is an earth-based religion and lifestyle, that connects itself to, but is not defined by, early pagan religions, through its tenants and customs. The religion is based on several common divinity pantheons and traditions, and the lifestyle is based on the Wiccan principles and ethics.
What are the basic tenants of Wicca?
The most common tenants of Wicca are the following: animism, pantheism, and polytheism. Animism is the belief that all things have a life force or energy. Pantheism is the belief that divinity is inseparable from nature. Polytheism is the belief in many deities.
Who are Wiccans?
Wiccans come from all walks of life. They are students, family members, and friends. They are assistants, computer technicians, business owners, CEOs, and celebrities. There is no one true defining factor of who is Wiccan. And we celebrate this diversity!
What is magick?
The one true current on this earth that touches us all at every moment of our lives is energy. We are energy, we create energy, and we are influenced by energy. This is the idea behind magick. We are magick, we create magick, and are influenced by magick. Magick can be described in many ways, but it can be broken down to it’s basic level– energy.
Can someone be Wiccan and not a Witch?
Yes, some Wiccans choose not to practice spellwork.
Can someone be a Witch and not Wiccan?
Yes, some Witches only cast spells and do not follow the religious aspects of Wicca.
Is it true that Wiccans worship the Devil?
No, this is not true. Wiccans do not believe in “good” or “evil,” because it does not exist in nature. There are no “good” and “evil” plants and animals, nor “good” and “evil” actions in nature; therefore, it does not make sense to believe in the concept of “good” and “evil”. Wiccans do, however, believe in the concept of “right” and “wrong”, although this is individually defined.
